Abstract Submission Terms and Conditions

  1. The abstract submission process will remain open for the advertised period, closing at AEDT 16:00 on Friday 06 October, 2023.
  2. Should you miss the advertised deadline, please do not ask for an extension. We receive a high volume of submissions, therefore late submissions will not be considered under any circumstance.
  3. Requests to change abstracts after submission will not be considered.
  4. The acceptance, timing, presentation and discussion of all papers are at the discretion of the Trainees' Weekend Organising Committee.
  5. All submitted papers will be reviewed by the Trainees' Weekend Organising Committee and the Victorian & Tasmanian Research Committee following the close of the abstract submission process.
  6. Successful applicants will be notified by email no later than Monday 30 October.
  7. Applicants will be considered for verbal presentations on any given day of the Scientific Program, and must be presented in person.
  8. The allocation of date and time for verbal presentations is not negotiable or changeable.
  9. All successful applicants are required to register to attend the Trainees' Weekend. Any applicant who has not settled their registration fee prior to program commencing will not be awarded the certificate of presentation.
  10. Successful applicants who have had their research peer reviewed and selected will be issued with a certificate of presentation following the event.
  11. The person who has submitted the abstract is therefore the presenter, and the person who will be recognised for the research in the form of a certificate. This is not changeable under any circumstance and requests to change presenters will not be considered.
  12. Successful applicants will have their research scored on the day of their presentation for consideration of best paper award. This will be presented during the closing proceedings of the meeting.
